Keith Campbell
Lead Pastor
Keith and his wife Dawn came from Ohio to Lake Placid in 1990 to teach elementary school. Keith and Dawn have 12 children, yes 12! They have 3 biological children and 9 children that they were blessed to adopt. Through their years of experience with foster care and adoption, Keith and Dawn have led South Oak in how it cares for vulnerable children and families. In the church as well as in their family, they believe that it is a non-negotiable command from God to minister to the needs of orphans and widows. Their involvement with South Oak began when Keith started helping the worship team by filling in when needed. They became a part of the South Oak family shortly thereafter as Keith served as the part-time worship leader. That grew within him a love for the team and the church. A couple of years later he was asked to be the youth pastor. After almost 9 years of leading the youth, he became the Lead Pastor in 2015. At the same time, Keith began a 12-month discipleship intensive called The Bonhoeffer Project, which gave him the foundation for South Oak’s hands-on approach to discipleship. At present, Keith and the South Oak Team continue to encourage the church to follow Jesus as a family united and to engage the world with His love.

Paul von Merveldt
Executive/Youth Pastor
Paul and his wife Robyn both grew up in Sebring and outside of attending college at UCF have always called Highlands County home. They have 4 children ranging from preschool to college. As a family they love spending time together whether it be sports or time on the water or exploring new “advontures”. Family is very important and frames the way the von’s see South Oak. Being “a family united” is core to what it means to be a part of South Oak. We are not just a collection of acquaintances who gather for an hour on Sunday but a family seeking to grow in relationship with Jesus and one another.
Paul has a degree in finance and after a short career in financial advising felt led to ministry. He has been at South Oak for over 20 years and currently leads our youth ministry (Thrive), helps give oversight to our family ministries, and is a teaching pastor on Sunday mornings.

Mike Ford
Care Pastor
Mike and his wife Mary Beth met in Naples, FL when they were in their 30s and he was a landscape designer. They were married in 1996 and have two sons. After completely surrendering to the Lord, Mike felt Him leading them to leave Naples and move to Lorida. Originally, Mike's intent was to open an outdoor outreach on their property. However, God closed that door and opened the door to Mike becoming ordained in 2002 and starting his journey doing Pastoral Care at South Oak in 2007. Mike's main focus is to share the love of Jesus with everyone so they too can have the "peace that surpasses all understanding" and can experience healing and growth in their relationships.
